ONE TAP TO DICTATE

Put Medicus on your home screen

It opens straight into your dictation rooms, full screen, with no address bar and nothing to type. Pick what you are holding.

iPhone and iPad — Safari

Safari only. Chrome, Firefox and Edge on an iPhone cannot add to the home screen, so open medicusarc.com in Safari first.

Tap the Share button in the bar at the bottom — the square with an arrow pointing up out of it.

Can’t see the bar? Tap once at the very bottom of the screen and it slides back up. On newer iPhones Share sits inside the menu button instead — open that first, then tap Share. On an iPad the Share button is at the top right.

The share sheet slides up. Scroll down past the apps and the bookmark rows until you see Add to Home Screen, then tap it.

Not there at all? You are in a Private tab — Safari hides this option in Private browsing. Open medicusarc.com in a normal tab and try again.

Tap Add at the top right. The Medicus icon is now on your home screen, beside your other apps.

Tap it and it opens straight into your dictation rooms. The first time it will ask you to sign in; after that it remembers you.

Android

Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox and Edge can all do this.

medicusarc.com Add to Home screen
1

Open the browser’s own menu, then pick the install item:

Chrome — the three dots at the top right, then “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.
Samsung Internet — the three lines at the bottom right, then “Add page to”, then “Home screen”.
Firefox — the three dots at the bottom right, then “Install”.
Edge — the three dots at the bottom, then “Add to phone”.

2

Confirm with Install or Add. The Medicus icon lands on your home screen with your other apps.

Windows and Mac

You get a desktop shortcut and a proper app window, with no browser around it.

Chrome — look for the small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar and click it. If it is not there, open the three dots at the top right and choose “Install Medicus”; newer Chrome keeps it under “Cast, save and share”.

Edge — the three dots at the top right, then “Apps”, then “Install this site as an app”.
Safari on a Mac — the File menu, then “Add to Dock” (Safari 17 or newer).
Firefox cannot install a site at all. Use Chrome or Edge, or drag the padlock in the address bar onto your desktop for a plain shortcut.

Whichever one you use, the icon opens Medicus at your dictation rooms. It is the same website rather than a separate app to keep updated, and nothing is kept on the phone except an unsent dictation, which it holds for 24 hours so a dropped signal never loses your words.
